I know that this idea has been brought up before. I just want to reiterate how this would totally kick ass!!! We could have the Java guys and the Ruby guys throw down, if we added the PHP, Python and DotNet guys we could have a total Battle Royal. So I think we need to make it official we need an event like this, we need to get our platform agressions out in a safe and fun activity. We need SumoCampTdot 1.0
- We need a place to hold it. Its summer I think a park would be nice.
- I think we should buy our own suits ($3K) so we can do this whenever…
- So according to our own guidlines we would need 12 sponsors who would also be willing to be participants. I think I already have one.
Each sponsor could wear their own banner.
So I’d like to talk about this more at BarCampTdot next weekend, so how we can make this happen… I’d be willing to entertain the idea of renting suits instead of buying them.
SO IF YOU THINK YOUR PROGRAMMING ENVIRONMENT HAS WHAT IT TAKES BRING IT TO THE MAT. OH YEAH!!

Hey buddy, just because you don’t need a suit to enter the circle don’t trash the idea and ruin it for everyone else. Hey I wonder if you got into the suit if it would make you look thinner HAHAHAHA. Oh and as for that “Chicken” comment let me just say that I would destroy you on the mat because I am strong and fast.

meanwhile, have you given more though to jrcampers? with the next webslam seemingly pushed off til after summer it seems like it might be a good time to organize something with the kids. if anyone has extra time in the summer you’d think it would be students. some kind of ad hoc SummerCamp could be cool. Highschoolers get out in june so there’s still just a bit of time to get organized. what do you think? (I won’t be at barcamp sadly so send me an email). cheers.
