The Chicken Test is brought to you by W.R. and Bryce who live in Seattle. Bryce spends too much time on Twitter and posts photos to Flickr; sometimes you'll find him on Facebook. Look for both of them at BarCamps

The Secret Ingredient to BarCamp is…

So check out the post that inspired this rant. See you at BarCamp… Seriously… I’ll be looking for you, you better be there.

Oh and the people that I mentioned are David and Mark and Thomas and Suthaand others… like Rob and Michael and Alec and Partrick and Deb and Oshoma and Ken and Michael and John and Craig

oh one more thing. I really like events and groups that are focused on a specfic topic, I am part of many cults :-) . All I am saying that I think that diversity is the key to what makes BarCamp special.

New TorCamp Event: SumoCampTdot 1.0

I know that this idea has been brought up before. I just want to reiterate how this would totally kick ass!!! We could have the Java guys and the Ruby guys throw down, if we added the PHP, Python and DotNet guys we could have a total Battle Royal. So I think we need to make it official we need an event like this, we need to get our platform agressions out in a safe and fun activity. We need SumoCampTdot 1.0

  • We need a place to hold it. Its summer I think a park would be nice.
  • I think we should buy our own suits ($3K) so we can do this whenever…
  • So according to our own guidlines we would need 12 sponsors who would also be willing to be participants. I think I already have one.
Each sponsor could wear their own banner.

Sumo Java vs Sumo Ruby

So I’d like to talk about this more at BarCampTdot next weekend, so how we can make this happen… I’d be willing to entertain the idea of renting suits instead of buying them.

SO IF YOU THINK YOUR PROGRAMMING ENVIRONMENT HAS WHAT IT TAKES BRING IT TO THE MAT. OH YEAH!!

Game Changing: How You Can Transform Client Mindsets Through Play – Jess McMullin

About GamesAs many of you know the big guy and I attended this year’s IASummit, saw many great presentations and talked to crazy smart people. One of the sessions I saw was Jess McMullin’s “Game Changing: How You Can Transform Client Mindsets Through Play” and we recorded it. Since Jess has released his slides (and Heather has released the family pictures) we decided to try to edit together a little movie of his session. Now the audio is not the greatest, but we did our best, and you can download a 20meg Windows Media file or a 28meg QuickTime file. You should also check out Jess’s business+design site for more great stuff like this.
