DemoCamp Über Alles.

Another successful installment of DemoCamp last night. Since BarCamp is about the people it was nice to see some familiar faces like Jay, Joey, Sutha, Ken, John, David, Thomas, SPAZSQUATCH, Patrick, Mike, Mathew, Carsten, Mark and a bunch of others. It was nice to a bunch of new people out at DemoCamp like AmberMac from CommandN and Leo Laporte of TwitTV. Joe Clark also came out last night and wrote a great review of the evening. Go read his recap.

The products shown were great very exciting stuff but the demos were honestly not very exciting. We may need to do a DemoCamp on how to do… Demos. Mike has written about it and Alec and Howard presented on it at BarCamp Ottawa. Now before you think I’m an asshole for ragging on the great people who are will to come out and share with us remember my motivation is to make a our community one that is Better Stronger Faster; the best community that science can create. The community should be like when your mom used to point out that your face was dirty then spit on a Kleenex and start scrubbin. Demoites should know when they have some schmutz on their face.
DemoCamp Über Alles.

So last week was the first EnterpriseCamp Enterprise2.0 Toronto and after everything I said about bringing it to DemoCamp above I’m starting to feel a little embarrassed about the presentation I did with Bryce (luckily Carsten was there to contribute). See I don’t really prepare; I kinda wing it and hope the audience will help me make it happen. The presentation was recorded and I’ll be posting it here soon. Next time I’ll make sure I deliver the goods.

Thomas has a great write-up on the first Enterprise2.0 Toronto.

Sacha Choa talked about how social media transformed her experience as a graduate researcher and employee of IBM. The money quote of the evening from Sacha “social media transformed my perspective of IBM from cold and overwhelming organization to and organization full of individual people and friends”

Sacha’s talk was very honest and engaging; you can see it below, albeit from the back of the room.

Some one pointed out to me at work that DemoCamp Über Alles may be offensive to some. This was not my intention.

    Democamp 8

Here we are for another awesome Democamp! Here are the 3 musketeers cracking jokes at the audience. A special word has to be said for David Crow, as mentioned from Michael McDerment, who organized the very first BarCamp here and who is single-handedly…
