Jeff Parks puts out a great Podcast called the IA podcast and last week he was at Mesh. So he did a session with a bunch of great people on UX & Community and I wasn’t in it. WHATS UP WITH THAT. Bryce is in it but not me. Well you should go check it out anyway.

Another weekend another BarCamp… well InteractionCamp actually. By all accounts we had a great day. I know I really have a lot to think about after the event. The crowd was different then our normal BarCamp crowd, as we hoped it would be and many of the people there have never been to an unconfernence. I think we may have some new converts. I hope this is the start of many more events like this within our community.
My co-organizers Audrey, Kaleem and Lindsay worked very hard to put the event together. I hope they got as much out of the event as I did.
Session notes and slides from the event.
I encourage people to keep adding material to the wiki.
Our great sponsors
We had great sponsors for the event and I’d really like to thank them for their support.

Keep the community going
I urge people to check out more events by Barcamp Toronto (TorCamp) and the UXIrregulars like the upcoming CaseCamp, VisThink , Energize IT and Open Cities events.
Another event people should really check out is this years CanUX. CanUX2007 – The Canadian User Experience Workshop. I have attended these for the past two years and it is the best kept conference secret going.

To get it in Quicktime
There is a silly trend by business people to call web 2.0 web2 and that is wrong and lazy. Keep social media about geeks and community. Semantics are important
Call it Web Two Point Oh.
Web Two has got to go.
I’m going to start using silverlight & silverlight hosting soon but I want to update my whole blog.

So as BlogTO said we un-kicked off Toronto Tech Week on Saturday with Toronto’s fourth BarCamp since November 2005. By all accounts it was a successful event. We had a lot of new campers (that have now been indoctrinated) and good conversations. We can’t ask for more than that.
There are a couple of posts about the event:
The organizers Ryan Coleman, willpate, Dan Kurtz and I would like to thank our sponsors:
EnterpriseCamp was today and it went really well. Sandy has some great posts about it.
So have a good tech week people of hogtown.

So this Saturday I attended my second MindCamp Idea Tasting. Just like the first one part of the reason for the event was to support Facilitators Without Borders – “Bringing people to solutions, not solutions to people”. Tim & Kristen put on a great event with some interesting workshops and the ones that I took were Brain Gym and How to turn a braindrizzle into a brainstorm.
The Opening circle was very cool, Tim asked us two questions that he wanted us to write out three answers for: What did I bring with me today to MindCamp? and What I want to take with me when I leave?
